Crossover with Harleen Jabbal spoke to Dr. Mandeep Kaur Sokhi to find out a little about her journey in the world of pharmacy.
Dr. Sokhi, a pharmacists and owner of City Med Pharmacy, commented on Kenya’s growth in the pharmaceutical industry which is at almost 11.8% growth per year leading Kenya on the road of becoming the hub of the pharmaceutical industry in Africa. The greatest challenge in the industry is the issue of counterfeits. The Pharmacy and Poisons Board has set up the Pharmaco Vigilance Department to keep counterfeits in check. Professionals in the industry also remain vigilant to ensure that counterfeits do not penetrate the market.
With her passion for the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Sokhi decided to leave employment and start her own venture, becoming her own boss to deliver the best health care, the best medicines and the best advice that the end consumer may need.
