Joint East Africa Destination Portal Launched
Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda can now jointly market their tourism products online through www.visiteastafrica.org the first joint East Africa destination portal.
The portal will allow tourism trade operators to promote their multi country packages. It will also provide tourists with a single platform to access information on products, destinations and experiences. It is hoped that the portal will help to promote regional tourism among the three countries.
To extend opportunities for travel within the region, new multi country itineraries are being designed under the stewardship of the three tourism boards: Kenya Tourism Board, Rwanda Development Board and Uganda Tourism Board.
The portal caters for the needs of tourists as it helps increase awareness of the regions tourism products and acts as an interactive guide to the destinations. Tourism stakeholders are provided with an avenue to link with consumers as well as a platform to showcase their products and services. The portal also allows the media to access destination information in form of press releases, pictures and video.
