Safaricom’s Fibre To The Home Service Woos With Free Internet

Safaricom arrived at Ngumo estate to connect it to its Fibre to the Home service. The move will benefit more than 1,200 homes in Ngumo and Newa estates and brings the number of homes within reach of the service to more than 144,000 countrywide.

“Ngumo has been one of the estates where the service has been highly requested. With fibre connectivity now a basic need, we are keen to bring more homes in the County within reach of quality, fixed and affordable broadband services,” said Steve Okeyo, Director – Regional Services and Operations, Safaricom.

To mark the milestone, residents in the estate and all other customers across the country will receive one month of free fibre connectivity with each new connection. In addition, new customers will also continue to enjoy free fibre installation services and a free WiFi router.

Safaricom has a dedicated customer support line for the Fibre to the Home service. Existing customers can get support by calling 400 and those looking to get connected by dialing *400# for.

Customers can pick from a variety of packages starting with a basic Bronze 5 Mbps package for KES. 2,500. For streaming, and moderate to heavy usage, customers can choose from a 10 Mbps Silver package, 20 Mbps Gold Package and 40 Mbps Platinum Package for KES. 3,499, KES. 4,999 and KES. 9,999 respectively.

Within Nairobi County and its environs, Safaricom has rolled out the service in Nyayo, Kitengela, Langata, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, Kinoo, Uthiru, Athi River, BuruBuru, Ngong, Runda, Imara Daima, South B, South C, Parklands, TRM Drive, Lumumba Drive and Kikuyu estates.

The service is also available in Eldoret, Thika, Kisumu, Nakuru and Mombasa.
