Ogilvy (Africa) CEO Mathieu Plassard

Ogilvy, Africa’s premier integrated communications agency proved that it was at the top of the game after bagging three awards at the Social Media Week’s inaugural Digital Media Awards. They won Best in Storytelling, for Huawei Kenya, Best Social Good Campaign, for the globally popular “Most Eligible Bachelor” campaign with Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and Best Use of Chat Bots for Basco Paints.

The Digital Media Awards are aimed at recognizing excellence by brands, agencies, techies and individuals doing remarkable work in the digital space. This work ranges from digital content creation, digital campaign management, digital publishing, App development and use of new media in digital campaigns.

This year’s winners were announced on 15th June 2018, at the Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi in Westlands, Nairobi.

In remarks after the award ceremony, the Ogilvy (Africa) CEO Mathieu Plassard said, “This award strongly affirms our strategy as a global agency, where we drive brand messaging as one entity, incorporating disciplines such as Public Relations, Digital and Advertising into one. All three campaigns are a perfect blend of the different disciplines, with creativity driving the connection and delivering the message right to the audience, and creating the desired reaction.”

This follows on the heels of two globally acclaimed awards, the One Show Awards, where Ogilvy (Africa) bagged a BRONZE PENCIL in Innovation for Public Relations, as well as a MERIT Award for Mobile Advertising. These two awards were given for the outstanding work in the multiple-award winning campaign, The Most Eligible Bachelor, for the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

In the recent weeks, Ogilvy rebranded after 70 Years, With New Visual Identity, Logo and Organizational Design. With a list of over 80 awards in the 2017 -2018 season, this firmly puts Ogilvy in the lead as the most awarded agency in East and Central Africa.

Ogilvy is Africa’s premier communications agency. Operating in 24 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Ogilvy is the largest and most awarded network agency on the continent.
