PETE TV Series Returns for Second Season
PETE Casts and fans are hosted at the Nyali Cinemax, where the climax of the evening was the premiere of the second season of PETE show. This was a celebratory milestone achieved by Multichoice as part of a half a billion shillings investment, via Mnet, to promote 15 original local shows which air exclusively on Maisha Magic East, the only show in the country with 100% local content.
Present at the screening were the cast of the show led by Daudi Otieno, the producer, Mutran Tamim (Jasiri), Leon Ongaya (Jasiri’s brother), Mbura. Other cast members such as Selestine Nyagha (Nuru) and Aisha Mwajumlah (Nimimi) were also in attendance.
Channel Head Maisha Magic East Margaret Mathore while addressing the fans reiterated the commitment of the channel to offer the best local entertainment. She said, “We realize the power that quality entertainment has. We invest in local productions that drive our local stories, open our minds and bring people together around shared passions. PETE is just one of the many shows that we have on our Maisha Magic channel and will continue to support to ensure our audiences get the shows that they love delivered to them in their living Rooms.”
PETE is a Swahili word meaning a ring. In the series it denotes a circular or endless situation. This ring plays out metaphorically as a beacon of ultimate leadership competition, love, hatred and co-existence in a situation that will have the audience glued to their screens.
As the season launches, PETE viewers and fans will also get a chance to win a trip to Funzi Island. The competition begins on Monday 5, 2019 and will award 8 fans with an all expense paid trip to the world of PETE. The competition will primarily run on Facebook. One winner will be selected each week. The winner gets a ticket for two to visit Funzi Island and interact with the cast and crew of PETE.
PETE airs on weekdays Monday to Friday at 7.30pm daily on Maisha Magic East on DStv channel 158 and GOtv channel 4.
In the year 2017/2018 Maisha Magic invested half a billion Kenya shillings to promote local content. This was used to support the production of 15 local shows: Selina, Varshita!, Pambio Live, Our Perfect Wedding, Turn Up, all of which continue to be among the leading shows on the channel. In 2019, Maisha Magic has launched new shows including Pete, Njoro wa Uba with more new releases expected to hit the TV screens before March 2020.
