Bolt engages NTSA on Road Safety awareness campaign
Bolt, the leading on-demand transportation platform in Europe and Africa, has engaged The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to train motorists on its platform on road safety.
This is part of Bolt’s broader strategy of ensuring high road safety standards and compliance with public transport regulations by motorists using its platform.
The training was conducted at Bolt Nairobi office as part of a Monthly Driver Focus Group that educates the driver partners on Bolt’s road safety policies. It involved implementation of a number of proven measures that address not only the safety of the road user, but also vehicle safety, the road environment and post-crash care.
“Our ride-hailing business is built on efficiency so that we could offer our drivers and passengers the best deal on the market. We are working every day to ensure the driver partners are safe and are providing innocuous services to passengers. This training is meant to build capacity and ensure provision of safe, reliable and efficient road transport services,“ said Ola Akinnusi, Country manager for Bolt Kenya.
This comes as the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officers and Nation Police Service (NPS) are set to commence a road safety awareness campaign on major roads meant to contain the rising road carnage.
In performance of its functions, the Authority is mandated to among others, facilitate the education of members of the public on road safety, conduct research and audits on road safety.
The trainings stem just few days to customer service week celebrations and aim at equipping motorists with necessary skills relating to road transport and safety regulations.
