STOCKFISH FILM FESTIVAL IS BACK

The Stockfish Film Festival will be held from 20th – 30th of May.
Never before in the festival’s history have there been so many titles shortlisted and nominated for an Academy Award. La Llorona, The Last Ones, Sun Children were in the frontrunning for Best International Feature, Pinocchio was nominated for two Academy Awards, Promising Young Woman won for Best Original Screenplay and The Man Who Sold His Skin was nominated for Best International Feature.
Stockfish Film Festival & Industry Days is a non-profit international film festival held in March each year in Bíó Paradís, the only art-house cinema in Iceland. During the festival, we screen around 30 hand-picked award-winning films and host various events and meet-ups geared towards industry members and film enthusiasts alike.
Stockfish Film Festival aims to create a platform in Reykjavík to encourage collaboration between domestic and international film communities. Through the years great many international award-winning directors and film professionals have accepted Stockfish invitation to speak at the festivals many conferences, celebrations, panels, Q&A sessions and master classes. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year the masterclasses will be online.
The festival will show some of the most up-and-coming films in the world, which the Icelandic audience would not have an opportunity to see otherwise, and invite international filmmakers to discuss filmmaking, the industry and the community.
